nastcsmThe National Association of Small Trucking Companies is dedicated to helping small trucking companies succeed in a growing competitive industry. They have developed many programs, products and services to help their members.  The NASTC ( http://www.nastc.com ) has a number of small fleet carriers totaling 5,000+ and adding 80 to 100 new carriers each month. They currently have 945 Associate Members in categories of manufacturers, suppliers, vendors, and best brokers.  NASTC is an association of small trucking companies running 60,000+ power units. Their market is 100 trucks or less with average fleet size of 18-20 trucks. Majority of members are full truckload long haul carriers operating in US and Canada. They are the largest combined purchaser of OTR diesel fuel in the country.

They serve tens of thousands of shippers and carriers, bringing together the transportation needs of the cargo interests with the corresponding capacity and special equipment offered by rail, motor, air, and ocean carriers. ispm15The International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures, publication number 15 – Regulation of wood packaging material (WPM) in international trade.  The regulations are to help prevent the worldwide spread of plant pests and diseases by using specially treated wooden packaging material (WPM).   Is part of the United Nations Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) controls the regulations through the cooperation of member governments of the UN.  ISPM15 applies to coniferous softwood and non-coniferous hardwood used as raw wood packaging material. The standard does not apply to wood packaging made wholly of manufactured wood-based products such as plywood and veneer, reconstituted wood products (particle board, chipboard, presswood, oriented strand board, high density fiber board, and medium density fiber board) or products created using glue, heat and pressure or a combination thereof.  More information about the ISPM can be found at http://www.ispm15.com
